Price per milligram: comparing sizes and boxes fairly

The formula

A Webb price is always the price of one box. To compare listings with different fills, bring each price down to the same unit of material:

Price per mg = box price ÷ (fill per vial × vials per box)

The part in brackets is the box total described in the note on how vial and box amounts add up. If you prefer to think per vial, divide the box price by the vial count instead: a $45.00 box of 10 vials is $4.50 a vial. Both figures come from the same two lines on the listing, and each product page prints them.

Worked example: one compound, three fills

Moving from BPC-157 2 mg to BPC-157 10 mg changes the price from $0.95 per mg to $0.45 per mg. The larger box costs $26.00 more but carries 5 times the material, which is why a per-box comparison on its own says little.

Check every fill

Per-mg figures often fall as fills grow, but not always, and never by a fixed step. Work out each size you are considering instead of extrapolating from two of them.

• In the Tesamorelin line the figure falls at every step, from $2.65 per mg for Tesamorelin 2 mg to $1.60 per mg for Tesamorelin 20 mg, though not by the same amount each time.
• In the MOTS-c line, MOTS-c 20 mg works out at $0.68 per mg, above MOTS-c 10 mg at $0.66 per mg: here the larger fill costs more per mg.
• In the Sermorelin line, Sermorelin 10 mg works out at $1.51 per mg, above Sermorelin 5 mg at $1.34 per mg: here the larger fill costs more per mg.

Compare like with like. Sermorelin and Sermorelin Acetate are separate listings with separate prices, and so are CJC-1295 with DAC and CJC-1295 without DAC. A per-mg comparison only means something between listings that carry the same name.

Listings rated in IU

For listings rated in International Units the same division gives a price per IU. HGH 191AA is stocked in five fills, and the table shows how the per-IU figure moves across them. A per-IU figure can be set beside other per-IU figures for the same compound, never beside a per-mg figure.

In the HGH 191AA line, HGH 191AA (Somatropin) 12 IU works out at $0.51 per IU, above HGH 191AA (Somatropin) 10 IU at $0.45 per IU: here the larger fill costs more per IU.

Listings sold by volume

Liquid listings state a volume, such as 10 mL per vial, and no mass, so Webb prints no per-mg figure for them. Dividing the box price by the millilitres in the box gives a cost per mL (Lemon Bottle 10 mL: $53.00 ÷ 100 mL = $0.53 per mL), but that figure compares volume only. Two liquids with the same cost per mL need not contain the same amount of anything.

Blends and per-mg figures

A blend’s per-mg figure spreads the box price over the combined content of every component. It is a fair way to compare one blend listing with another of the same composition, but it says nothing about the price of any single component on its own.

A box of BPC-157 10 mg + TB-500 10 mg Blend holds 100 mg of each component for $197.00. One box each of BPC-157 10 mg and TB-500 (Thymosin B4 Acetate) 10 mg holds the same amounts in separate vials for $45.00 + $155.00 = $200.00, $3.00 more than the blend box. The blend packs both components into 10 vials; the two single boxes use 20.

A checklist for fair comparisons

• Same compound name, down to suffixes such as “Acetate” or “with DAC”.
• Same unit: mg with mg, IU with IU. Liquid listings have no per-mg figure.
• Box totals, not vial fills: divide by what the whole box contains.
• Shipping is calculated at checkout for the whole order and is not part of any per-mg figure on the site.
• Figures are rounded. Per-mg values under $0.10 keep three or four decimal places so small differences stay visible.
